3 children, 2 adults identified as victims after Illinois school bus & semi-truck collide
RUSHVILLE, Ill. (WICS) — Five people are dead, including three children, after a school bus and semi-truck collided in western Illinois.
The bus was traveling west on U.S. Route 24 at Parkview Road around 11:30 a.m., and for an unknown reason, crossed the road and hit the commercial vehicle head-on, according to Illinois State Police.
Both vehicles became engulfed in flames as a result. The bus driver, truck driver, and all three students on the bus were pronounced dead on the scene, state police confirmed.
Illinois State Police gave an update Monday afternoon, saying that the three children and bus driver were the only individuals on the bus.
On Monday evening, the Schuyler County Coroner identified those involved in the crash.
According to the coroner, David Coufal, 72, of Browning, Angela Spiker, 57, of Rushville, Maria Miller, 5, of Rushville, Andrew Miller, 3, of Rushville, and Noah Driscoll, 3, of Rushville were pronounced dead at the scene.

The students on the bus were from Schuyler-Industry Schools. In a Facebook post, they posted the following:
The bodies are being taken to Springfield Memorial Hospital and the coroner will release his report when it is finished.
The incident is still under investigation.
