Clothing Chain To Close All Stores, Including 17 In Massachusetts, Laying Off Nearly 500

EbLens, a retail store with a 70-year history, is liquidating its inventory and closing all its stores for the "benefit of creditors," according to Steven Victor, Executive Manager of Eblens ABC LLC.

The chain was created in New Britain, Connecticut in 1949 and now sells name-brand streetwear, footwear, and accessories.

EbLens currently employs close to 500 people across all its stores, including 17 in Connecticut and 17 in Massachusetts.

The workers will lose their jobs after EbLens successfully sells off its inventory, a process which can take between one and two months, according to Victor.

Shoppers can take advantage of closeout sales until that day. EbLens is advertising discounts of up to 30 percent in an effort to clear out its stock.
