After the way he treated women who are not Logans, I say good riddance to despicable Eric. But, sadly for me, he likely isn’t going anywhere because this is probably just a ratings stunt. The writers never want to research subject matters. So, they leave behind any chance—if ever there were one—of winning me over to Eric’s side.

I have not been an Eric fan ever, but I did feel bad for him on Friday’s show when he told Donna that he was scared. I even choked up over it. It must be difficult for John McCook to play this part in the story line because he’s older IRL.

Just checked it out. Supposedly, his contract is extended til 2026. It’s the internet but I’m guessing it’s true.

Well, it’s hard to know because the show is only contracted on CBS until 2024 so for all the actors, coming all going, their jobs are only safe until 2024… (As far as we know). I’m sure they’re in negotiations as we speak so that people know what they’re doing with their jobs and the show.
And as much as I do like John McCook, I actually hate Eric, so I am happy for him to die and make room for another family or people to join the show. Perhaps his brother can come on the show and be the patriarch of this family. I have never felt Eric to be the patriarch of anything except his love for the Logan family. His love for Beth, then Brooke and Donna have been the main reasons why I hate him. He’s always put them first, and when he’s not doing that, it’s all about him.
Happy for him to be killed off. JMC is a great actor but the storyline is not doing him any justice while it is being poorly written.

Personally, I think Eric should retire, marry Donna, and take a 3-year cruise around the world.
Then bring Thorne back ready to fight Ridge for control of Forrester. Bring back the rest of the siblings (Kristen & Felicia) to take sides between the brothers and have a real family fight!

Thorne has already stated many tomes he does not want to be CEO. Further Thorne would lose against Ridge and Steffy. Why make him a loser again?

I am about the same age as JM and we are facing our mortality a lot sooner and we do get scared even though we try to hide it and continue to live a good life. JM played that very well.

From what I just read on Internet on him he leaving the show and here is another fact on that Thorne forrester Eric’s son is returning to the show. But John McCook has not signed a new contract with the show.

Since there is an article on this site where JM has stated that his personal feelings align with Eric’s. JM has stated that he wants to live his live to the fullest which includes doing the job that he enjoys. This does not sound like a man who is retiring although Bell has made it seem like JM will be retiring with the visit from JM daughter visiting the studio and being nostalgic about her fathers dressing room.
Since we have no idea what Eric is dying of Eric will probably pass out at his party and be rushed to the hospital where Finn, Li and/ or Bridget will some how succeed in making Eric better.

I agree with you. I have been watching from the beginning and before that I watched John on YR. He is doing a great job and says he is loving this story. He is approaching it as a love story with Donna. For some reason, I had forgotten Donna had only been married to Justin besides Eric and the rest was pining away for Eric again. I guess I just didn’t pay much attention since I have not cared for the character or really the actress when she was on YR. It would be sad for me to see him go or even KKL since they have been around since the beginning.

I’m sorry but after watching this whole grand finale thing, reliving every moment of his life it would be embarrassing for B&B to give him a miracle cure. I can see them doing it if JM is really retiring but to just do this for him to survive is a complete joke IMO. Just shows me B&B is completely out of ideas, lol.

Not all of us like the character of Eric Forrester. Sorry but there is more drama and story lines with his death and fighting over his assets and company.
